Biography
A Welsh-born singer with an authentically American soulful bent, Tawny Reed had the potential to be Wales' answer to Lulu, but never made it, despite her sizzling cover of the Motown classic "Needle in a Haystack" and Baby Washington's "I Got a Feeling" on Pye Records in England. Her work may never had charted, but it wasn't entirely unrecognized as Reed's single received the singular honor of being licensed for release in America by Red Bird, virtually the core girl group label. ~ Bruce Eder
