The Mars Volta

The Mars Volta create a powerful sound that begins with the intensity of hardcore, but branches out into elements of hardcore, prog, psychedelic rock, and avant-jazz and funk. They formed in 2001 out of the ashes of hardcore group At the Drive-In, led by the core duo of Cedric Bixler-Zavala and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez.
