Formed in the late '90s in Darmouth, Nova Scotia, Slight Return began like many young bands do. Singer Jonathan Samuel and Devon Code-McNeil met when they were nine, enrolled in violin class. From there, the friendship blossomed as did their musical interests. In high school the two joined forces and added bassist Chris Pennell and guitarist Matthew Kennedy.
