Ever wonder what's actually like to be a rock star on tour? Of course you do. Never fear, iHeartRadio is here ... to show you exactly what it's like -- for Weezer, Panic! at the Disco, and Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, anyway. We gave all three artists the keys to iHeartRadio's Twitter, Snapchat, and Instagram accounts as they kicked off their joint summer tour together at their second tour stop in New Orleans (the very first date on tour was actually June 10th in The Woodlands, TX). Weezer took over iHeartRadio's Instagram, while Panic! at the Disco's Brendon Urie was behind the Snapchat account and Andrew & band, the iHeartRadio Twitter.
Throughout each of these takeovers, you'll see what it's like behind the scenes, back stage AND on stage, on the tour bus, and hanging out in New Orleans as the bands hit their second stop while on tour. Let's start with Weezer.
Weezer Takes Over Instagram:
Weezer took over our Instagram account, and kicked the day off with the view out of their tour bus: a 400 vehicle procession of motorcycles and police escorts on the highway.
"Hi folks, @weezer here, taking over iHeartRadio's instagram today! First of all, #orlandostrong. Secondly, get ready for our performance in New Orleans tonight with @panicatthedisco by checking out our station on iHeartRadio, link in the bio! Thirdly, whats going on in the photo - today when we were rolling into New Orleans, all traffic stopped and a 400 strong procession of guys on wild motorcycles entered the highway with police escorts. Rivers was unable to ascertain the meaning of it all."
Then, the guys met some fans backstage before preparing to hit the stage.
"Meeting the fans backstage before the show in New Orleans! @weezer takeover day continues!"
Oh, did you know Rivers Cuomo is an artist? Look at THIS work of art! Rivers calls it "Youthquake IV." Also, twinsies?
"The @weezer takeover continues, here's Rivers with his latest artistic creation. Its titled 'Youthquake IV'"
Then it was SHOWTIME. New Orleans finally got to see Weezer hit the stage. And they even paid tribute to the tragic Orlando attack at gay nightclub Pulse over the weekend, performing in front of a rainbow Pride flag backdrop. The guys were #OrlandoStrong all weekend.
Panic! at the Disco's Brendon Urie Takes Over Snapchat:
Next up: Brendon Urie took over the iHeartRadio Snapchat, and it was magical -- no really ... he turned into a cartoon ...
... in "Nerd Orleans." This picture kind of gives the term "nerd" a whole new meaning if you ask us. #TalkNerdyToMe
As soon as we were assured where our dear friend cartoon Brendon was, it was time to sign autographs for the fans.
Then, things got ... well ... scary. Bejesus-scaring scary.
Finally, it was time to head to the bus.
But not before magically turning into a cowboy...
Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness Takes Over Twitter:
Andrew and his band took over the iHeartRadio Twitter account, and showed us their entire day from start to finish. From leaving Cleveland, Ohio, to travel to New Orleans ... including their layover, which included a stop at Starbucks. That mermaid from Seattle is pretty irresistible.
Has anyone else ever tried this place "Starbucks"? I think its a local joint. #burnt #coffee #layover pic.twitter.com/Q5oeLwvRAQ

During their plane ride, the flight attendants dropped them a pretty sweet note.
Damn Delta, you hired some sweethearts. Zac got this note on the plane. It was our pleasure Pam, Ashley, and Ellen! pic.twitter.com/TJ44KzGLVX

Zac was a happy camper (and flyer). Just look at that smile. You go, Delta.

After finally making it to New Orleans, Andrew was reunited with his furry friend Doris, who was loyally waiting on the bus.

And once on the bus, things got a little ... Western for the band. They totally should have gave Cowboy Brendon Urie a call.
