See The Hilarious First Tweets From Your Favorite Boy Banders

April 24, 2017

Boy Bands

Before Twitter became what it is today, it was a brand new social network founded in 2006. Some people were early adopters of the social network, while many waited a few years until they got involved. Some of these people were a few of your favorite boy banders. And to celebrate Boy Band week here at iHeartRadio, we're taking a look back on some of the hilarious first tweets from the best of the boy bands throughout the years -- from New Kids on the Block to One Direction and those in between.

Listen to all of these boy bands and more all week on iHeart90s Radio:

Backstreet Boys

Back in 2009, Nick Carter sent out his very first tweet. And decided to treat his fans to a riddle...

Meanwhile, Brian Littrell was trying to figure out what you actually do on Twitter.

But Howie was confident about his Twitter abilities...

AJ was chillin' in Reno when he sent out his first tweet.

And from the official @backstreetboys account? They wanted to update fans on their travels.

*NSYNC

Lance Bass didn't join Twitter until 2010. Here are his first words on the social networking site:

Justin was an earlier adopter of Twitter, and took the opportunity to spread some music education in his first tweet.

Shortly afterwards, Chris Kirkpatrick decided to take a trip to Twitterville also.

Joey took a different approach, tweeting out a picture. Although, you can't tell what it is he posted any longer ๐Ÿ˜•

And, of course, the iconic moment the actual band got an official Twitter account, sparking speculation the guys were all back together again:

One Direction

Louis Tomlinson made his first tweet a compliment to UK singer/songwriter Lucie Jones.

And Liam Payne needed to confirm his identity.

Meanwhile, Harry Styles was at his home just enjoying the day the first time he sent out a tweet.

Nick Lachey "finally" joined Twitter in 2009. But not just Twitter, the "Twitter-verse." It's a vast online universe.

Meanwhile, his brother Drew had some reservations about getting on the social network. Shout out to Jenn and Fritsch for getting him through it!

And then, there's Jeff Timmons, who used his first tweet to direct fans to watch him on MTV's reality series Made.

New Kids On The Block

NKOTB were also early adopters of Twitter, and their first tweet? Follow Donnie.

And what did Mr. Wahlberg have to say? "I'm in the building"

Jonathan Knight's first tweet was actually a retweet -- and the old school way of retweeting, no less -- of fan's question about him.

Meanwhile, Joey McIntyre was having an Eat, Pray, Love moment...

And Jordan found himself also asking some important questions.

And then there's Danny's first Twitter words...

5 Seconds of Summer

5SOS's Michael just wanted to say a big "hello" to fans...

So, Luke decided to respond like so:

Calum was excited the band recorded Wheatus' 2000 single "Teenage Dirtbag."

Hanson

When Hanson joined twitter, it was Zac who took the first tweet, and only to inform friends that he had just eaten Q-Doba
