Miley Cyrus' breezy comeback track, "Malibu," leaked hours before its official release, but the pop titan shared an interesting bit about the single via Instagram on Wednesday (May 10).
Upon sharing the single artwork for the track, the 24-year-old revealed that the cover was photographed by none other than fiancé Liam Hemsworth. In the photo, Cyrus wears a comfy-looking turtle-neck (as well as her engagement ring) and lays on grass with the glistening sun hitting her face. Everything about the cover screams romance and that certainly matches the mood of the cut, which was produced by producer/writer Oren Yoel ("Adore You") and is an ode to Hemsworth.
Cyrus will make her first-time performance of the track at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday (May 21). In her recent feature with Billboard, the singer admitted that she wanted to take back the power of her relationship with Liam. "They're going to talk about me if I come out of a restaurant with Liam. So why not put the power back in my relationship and say, "This is how I feel'?" she said of the cut, which she penned one day in an Uber on her way to "The Voice."
Expect to hear "Malibu" when Miley hits our iHeartSummer '17 Weekend by AT&T at Fontainebleau Miami Beach in early June. The weekend-long event will feature live performances DJ Khaled, Halsey, the Backstreet Boys, Fifth Harmony and Noah Cyrus, with more special guests to be announced.
