Congratulations are in order to Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber for pushing the pack aside and becoming the crowning champs of the Billboard Hot 100 chart with their remix of "Despacito."

Billboard announced the news for their chart dating May 27 on Monday (May 15), with the song rising from the No. 3 position to the top of the chart. It's a major feat for the Hispanic community as "Despacito" becomes the first mostly Spanish-language Hot 100 No. 1 in more than 20 years after 1996's "Macarena," which dominated for 14 weeks that year, courtesy of its Bayside Boys mix.

Aside from being a major feat for the community, it breaks new grounds for Bieber, who becomes the first-ever artist to notch new No. 1's in consecutive weeks. Last week, he shot to the top of the chart alongside DJ Khaled, Quavo, Chance the Rapper and Lil Wayne, for their all-star team-up of "I'm the One."

The song also became “YouTube’s #1 Music Debut of 2017” with 177 million views and counting since the audio dropped last month. Moreover, in its original format “Despacito” generated 1.4 billion YouTube/VEVO views. Not only has it remained the #1 most-viewed video for 11 weeks, but it’s also the #1 most-viewed video of 2017. Plus, it is the fastest video to reach 1.3 billion views. On radio, it’s #1 in 20 countries as it takes the #1 spot in 15 countries on the Official Singles Chart.
