Britney Spears has only so many shows left of her Las Vegas "Piece of Me" residency, so the pop titan appears to be switching things up, particularly after her unexpected live cover of Bonnie Raitt's "Something to Talk About."

On Saturday night (August 19), the pop monarch stopped her show to talk with her audience about the ups and downs she's faced with the media. "One minute they tear you down, and that's really horrible, and the next minute you're on top of the world, but I've never really spoke about it," she explained. "I'm a Southern girl, I'm from Louisiana. I'm from the South, and I like to keep it real, so I just want to make sure I keep having you motherf**kers something to talk about."

From there, Spears went into her surprising rendition of the 1991 country-rock hit, which is a clear and clever nod to all the press she recently got for her comments on lip syncing. From the confidence in her speech to the twangy sass, this is what we need to see more of before her residency finishes. We see you, Britney!
