Meek Mill's journey of his probation and controversial prison sentence will be documented in a brand new docu-series by JAY-Z's Roc Nation.
But, that's not the only big surprise. The upcoming project has just been ordered by Amazon! Variety reports that the six-part series is scheduled to be released in 2019. Not only will the project chronicle the rapper's 10-year long legal battle with Philadelphia Judge Genece Brinkley and his rise to the top. But, it will also bring much-needed awareness to the high incarceration rates for people of color in the United States.
Meek issued a statement to Variety about the new series. “I’m grateful for this unique opportunity to share my story and I look forward to collaborating with Amazon Prime Video, Roc Nation and the Intellectual Property Corporation on this incredible series,” the famed artist said. “Not only will this documentary give viewers an unprecedented look at my life, but it will also allow me to use my public platform to highlight the need for criminal justice reform.”
We don't know the title of the project yet. But, we do know that filmmaker Isaac Solotaroff and Intellectual Property Corp. will be producing it, along with Roc Nation. We can't wait to watch.
