Netflix and… Dolly!

The country music legend has penned a new deal with the streaming giant to produce a series of films, each of which will be based on a classic Dolly Parton song.

The deal calls for eight made-for-TV films from “Coat of Many Colors” singer, who will also appear in select films.

“As a songwriter, I have always enjoyed telling stories through my music,” Dolly says. “I am thrilled to be bringing some of my favorite songs to life with Netflix. We hope our show will inspire and entertain families and folks of all generations, and I want to thank the good folks at Netflix and Warner Bros. TV for their incredible support.”

The Netflix partnership comes after Dolly’s successful run with NBC, for which she produced Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors and Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love.

Dolly is currently writing a soundtrack for the upcoming film Dumplin’, which stars Jennifer Aniston.

Look for that in theaters sometime this year.
