Justin Bieber is working hard on the "inspirational" follow-up to Purpose, but the pop titan is also lending his vocal talents to the world of acting, as per a new announcement from his manager, Scooter Braun, who revealed he's set for a new animated film called Cupid.
"When this project was brought to Justin, he instantly was excited to be a part of it. Fortunately for us, like Cupid, he knows a little bit about love and mischief," Braun, who serves as Mythos Studios' co-founder, said in a press release. Mythos Studios is a joint venture between Braun and Marvel Studios founding chairman David Maisel, who also chimed in during the announcement. "Both myself and Scooter have a lifelong love of mythology, and we are so excited to partner with Justin to bring the amazing, magical story of Cupid to the world," Maisel said. Cupid will mark the pop star's follow-up to cameo appearances in Zoolander 2 and Killing Hasselhoff as well as shows like CSI.
As you know, Cupid is the legendary winged God of Love from classical mythology, who is also referred to as the son of Venus. Bieber took the announcement one step further when the 24-year-old chart-topper shared a drawing of Cupid on Instagram with a simple caption: "#CupidMovie."
In our recent interview with Poo Bear, who was the man responsible for "Where Are Ü Now" as well as the singer's Spanglish remix of "Despacito," the super-producer teased his work on the chart-topper's next album. "All I can say about what I feel like the next sound will be is definitely inspirational and it's going to be big and it's going to be [reachable] on even a larger scale," he told iHeartRadio of the follow-up to 2015's Purpose. "We're trying to reach more people's spirits and more people's hearts with this next project. I just know that if you love Purpose, that was Justin's taste and that was us making records together, then I feel like you could be able to appreciate the next project that we're putting together."
