Shawn Mendes' promotional circuit to spread the word about his new self-titled album, which features "In My Blood," is going strong and the pop star joined "Carpool Karaoke" with James Corden on Monday night (June 4) to keep the momentum going.
During the 12-minute segment, the Canadian pop star offered up a number of his hits, including "There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back", "Mercy," "Treat You Better" and "Lost In Japan," but the ride also included talk about Mendes' fascination with Harry Potter. In case you didn't know, the 19-year-old chart-topper is a Harry Potter stan. "I really like Harry Potter," he told the late-night host, adding that his fandom hits a 9.5 rating out of 10. "I have a whole book at home that I wrote all the spells in and stuff."
Viewers went on to see the star turn into the famed wizard as cameras panned back to Mendes with every shot. "I just love it so much," he said. "It's what keeps me young." He also admitted that he was "really, really, star-struck" when he met Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Granger in the franchise, but he held his composure. "I was definitely sweating a bit but I think I played it cool. I think it was good."
