Harry Styles has declared his admiration for free love and acceptance once again, as per the former One Direction star's Philadelphia show on Friday night (June 15).
During his performance of 1D's "What Makes You Beautiful," the 24-year-old superstar snagged a gay flag from a fan in the crowd named Karla Balcazar and held it up in the air. It wasn't just any Pride flag; Styles' version alluded to the current political landscape with text written on it: "Make America Gay Again." It was a brief blink-or-you'll-miss-it moment, but Styles' latest endorsement for the LGBTQ+ community is just another reason to love the British star. "Yesterday was truly a once in a life time experience. I can't believe he noticed my ass. Not only did he blow me a kiss but he also asked me for my flag!" Balcazar told her followers on Instagram after the show.
Turns out, Balcazar's opportunity was the result of standing at the venue 10 hours prior to show time. Unfortunately, the tickets that she and her friend purchased weren't real, so they had to go to the box office at last minute and fork over the funds for general admission floor tickets. Thanks to some friendly security guards, she managed to get her way to the front of the arena in plain sight of Styles.
Styles' relationship with the LGBTQ+ community has always been a friendly one. In fact, he has been showing support on his current trek with tour merchandise that explicitly dons his motto on the matter. If you head over to his official website, you'll notice that he's selling rainbow t-shirts with the phrase "Treat People With Kindness," with proceeds benefiting GLSEN.
