For Luke Bryan, judging American Idol is a breeze.
The country superstar tells iHeartRadio’s Big 95.5 in Chicago he had a “good time doing” Idol’s first season on ABC and adds taking a seat on the judges’ panel requires long but rewarding work days.
“The auditions are about 12, 13 hours and they are long but they are fun. It’s so exciting because you are giving people tickets to Hollywood and all that,” he says, “so it flies by. We are locked in and focused on what we are doing.”
The “Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset” singer goes on to say American Idol’s live show is the light at the end of the tunnel. “When we get to live recordings, those are only two hours, so after two months of 12-hour days when we get to lives, it’s like it flies by and you don’t even know it. It’s like you are on vacation,” Luke says.
Don’t miss Luke and fellow judges Katy Perry and Lionel Richie as well as host Ryan Seacrest on another season of American Idol, premiering on ABC in 2019.
