Blac Chyna, a.k.a. the queen of securing a bag, has officially entered into the music business.
The 30-year-old rapper dropped her first single, "Deserve," on Monday (November 5). The track features Yo Gotti and Jeremih.
On the single, Chyna raps: "F**k you thought / Thinking you ‘bout to hop out the whip then hop up in this pu**y / Talk that talk / But when it’s time to pop a band you hop up and you shook." If Chyna's lyrics didn't make it clear, the song is about choosing money over men.
The reality star's music debut has been over a year in the making. It was back in September 2017 that TMZ first reported Chyna was trying her hand at the rap game. "She’s in the studio hard at work, recording every day," a source to Us Weekly months later. "Big name artists, producers and songwriters." An insider later told TMZ she was working on her debut album with hip-hop heavyweight Mally Mall. The source additionally claimed that she was set to collab with Yo Gotti, Tory Lanez, Jeremih, and Rae Sremmurd.
In November 2017 Chyna opened up to XXL magazine about the type of music she was working on. "I want to make music that reflects me and what’s going on at that present time," she explained. "You know, it’s kinda like a movie, how I’m looking at it. So if this is happening right now, I want to speak on it right then and there, you know?"
While Chyna made it clear that she was excited about entering the world of hip-hop, she also admitted to having some nerves about taking the leap into the music industry. "My fears going into this are for people not to take me serious," she shared. "Of course, people are gonna talk — good, bad, whatnot. I would just like to say to anybody that is for or against [my rap career], just keep an open eye, an open heart and an open ear."
