Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra marked their marriage with another wedding of sorts after celebrating their union the day before.
According to CNN, the newlyweds, who formally wed in a Christian ceremony at the Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur on Saturday (December 1), continued their wedding weekend festivities at the palace with a traditional Hindu ceremony on Sunday (December 2).
As part of their days-long marriage celebration, the Hindu gathering involves a priest conducting garlands of flowers being exchanged as the bride and groom announce their vows around a holy fire. The traditional ceremony ends when the bride, usually dressed in red, is bestowed vermillion on her forehead by the groom.
The merging of Western and Indian ceremonies was done so as to honor Jonas and Chopra’s cultures and religious backgrounds. Also, spotted for the festivities were Nick’s older brother Joe Jonas and his wife-to-be, Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner.
Prior to the festivities, the Quantico alumna and her husband participated in the Sangeet dance contest.
The 26-year-old musician and 36-year-old actress announced their engagement in August. It was previously rumored the pair had been dating as early as May and became engaged in secret over the summer when Jonas popped the question on Chopra’s birthday (July 18).
In the couple’s celebratory wedding cover story in the latest digital cover issue of Vogue, the “Anywhere” singer revealed he first came to meet Chopra over Twitter in 2016.
