When you listen to Billie Eilish sing, it's easy to forget that she's 17 years old. Her voice is bold, and her lyrics are thoughtful and pensive. She's an old soul. But deep down, she's still a teenager. And teenagers don't listen to CDs.
During a recent interview with NME, the alt-pop star revealed a bunch of firsts: Her first band t-shirt (Nirvana); her first concert (The Neighbourhood); her first celebrity crush (Biebs), but when asked about her first CD, Eilish laughed.
“The first CD I ever bought was nothing because I didn’t buy CDs ever,” she said. “What the hell? Did I ever buy a CD, Mom?” After listening to her mom's answer off camera, the young star argued, "I never bought that CD. Where would I play a CD? I've never bought a CD in my life."
So there you have it: teenagers scoff at CDs, and we officially feel very old.

Eilish has been hard at work on her debut full-length album. At the end of 2018, her brother and longtime collaborator Finneas O'Connor got us excited when he revealed that they had finished the record. Though the singer hasn't shared any details with us yet, we can't wait for her freshman effort to arrive.
