Maren Morris really heated things up on Instagram last week by sharing a stunning photo of where she was looking strong, empowered… and on vacation. It’s no secret that the "My Church" singer has been hard at work and deserved a few moments to take it all in beachside.
Maren’s latest single, “GIRL” has become an anthem for anyone who is going through hard times and now we have the official announcement that ‘GIRL’ the album will be here March 8th!
In an interview with Cody Alan , Maren opened up about the motivation behind her single saying “It’s tough to look in the mirror and be like, ‘I don’t like myself right now,’and it is not going to be forever, but I don’t like myself today. We don’t always love everything that we do. We are not perfect. We are humans.”
Maren shared her big album announcement via Instagram, saying “my new album ‘GIRL,’ available March 8th. Pre-order tonight at midnight EST.” Her choice for a bold hero image for the album cover is a clear indicator of what we can expect on this album.
Maren shared with Cody that she set the bar high for herself with her first album ‘Hero’ and that she wanted to keep the momentum from that record in an authentic fashion. “I knew I didn’t want to depart too far from the album that I made a few years ago, but I definitely wanted to keep the same spirit but push the sound forward” Maren shared. “And, I also wanted to write about things that I am going through now. There’s a lot more love songs on this record. Ryan [ Ryan Hurd ], my husband, has obviously been an incredible muse and these songs reflect that.”
Maren also revealed that she has a few surprises on this record and fans can expect to hear a couple of duets on this project. “I can't wait to announce them finally because they are really powerful songs.”
