Despite reports that Lori Loughlin has been fired from the fifth and final season of Netflix's Fuller House amidst her alleged involvement in the college cheating scandal, her longtime co-stars are standing firmly in her corner. Candace Cameron Bure doubled down on her defense of Loughlin during an appearance on The Today Show on Tuesday (April 2).

"It’s too personal to us,” Bure said. “We would never want to talk about someone that’s such a dear and close friend. I’ve already said that we are family and we stand by each other and pray for each other and we’ll always be there for each other."

This is the second time Bure has defended Loughlin in the scandal's aftermath. Following the news that Loughlin allegedly paid $500k to secure her two daughters spots at USC, Bure made a statemnt of solidarity while accepting a Kids Choice Award for Fuller House. “This family has a lot of heart … and where there’s a lot of heart, there’s a lot of love,” Bure said on stage, alongside fellow cast members Jodi Sweetin and Andrea Barber. “And a loving family sticks together no matter what. They stick together through the hard times, they support each other, they encourage one another, they pray for each other, and they stand by their side, no matter how tough it gets.”

Bob Saget echoed Bure's sentiments recently, as well. “You love who you love in your life,” Saget told TMZ. “I just love who I love. Candace said it really good at the Kids Choice Awards…You love who you love.” He then added that he's "on the team of people that I love, but life’s complicated. I don’t like talking about it.”
