DJ Khaled made his Saturday Night Live debut on Saturday (May 18), and brought a few (actually a whole lot) of his famous friends to celebrate the career milestone.
The legendary producer made sure that the show's season's finale was unlike any other in its 44-year history as he performed multiple songs off his new album, Father of Asahd. During the first of his two performances, Khaled performed a medley of new tracks "Jealous" and "You Stay," bringing out Lil Wayne, Big Sean, Jeremih, Meek Mill, Lil Baby, and J Balvin.
For his second performance, Khaled was joined by collaborators SZA and Meek Mill (again) to perform "Just Us," and "Weather the Storm." To conclude his performance, Khaled paid tribute to Nipsey Hussle. "Long live Nipsey Hussle," he said on stage. "The marathon continues." Khaled was then joined by John Legend, who performed their new collab "Higher," which the late rapper is featured on.
Prior to hitting the SNL stage, Khaled promised his fans a show like none other. "I'm just going to let you know... I've been trying to get on Saturday Night Live for a long time, and I'm so grateful that it came around this time," he told Jimmy Fallon while on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. "This is my most important album, but what I tell you what's going to happen on the Saturday Night Live finale is, it's going to be more history. The bar is going to be set real high, it's going to be star-studded, it's going to be incredible, it's going to be phenomenal, it's going to be historic and it's going to be legendary."
