Patrick J. Adams departed USA network's popular legal drama Suits at the end of its seventh season back in 2018. In his final episode, Patrick's character Mike Ross married his on-screen love interested Rachel Zane, played by Meghan Markle, and the two rode off into the sunset together. Meghan, of course, left the series to marry Prince Harry and pursue her new role as the Duchess of Sussex.
As Suits prepares to enter its ninth and final season, Patrick confirmed he'll be reprising his role on the show. Deadline reports Mike Ross will return mid-season "to get involved in a case that puts him toe to toe with Harvey Specter and Samantha Wheeler."
Few other details about Mike's return to Suits have been released so far. The question on fans' minds, though, is whether or not Rachel will return, as well. There's been speculation that Meghan would return for a cameo in the final season, though these rumors have never been confirmed.
"We could create a storyline where Rachel and Mike have created new lives for themselves and are starting a family, with Rachel showing an obvious baby bump," a source involved with Suits told The Daily Star. "I believe we could get away with only one or two lines from Rachel, perhaps saying how she would never have believed she would have such a wonderful life. This particular route would beautifully mirror real life."
While it's exciting to see Patrick bring his beloved character back to life, it's probably highly unlikely the Duchess will return to acting. Not only is she busy being a literal IRL princess, she's also on maternity leave after welcoming her first child just last month.
