Cardi B won't stand for disrespect.
After Jermaine Dupri slammed female rappers of 2019 — he told People they all rap about the same thing and it's "like strippers rapping" — the 26-year-old rapper took to Instagram with a response that not only set him straight, but all fans of hip-hop.
"Ok guys. So I have seen a lot of people [say] that 'nowadays all female rappers do is talk about their pu**y' and sh*t and now that Jermaine Dupri brung it up, now I'mma say something about it. First of all, I rap about my pu**y because she my best friend. And second of all it's because it seems like that's what people what to hear," she said before further explaining how she caters her music to her audience. "I ain't even gonna front. Let me tell you something, when I did "Be Careful," people was talking mad sh*t in the beginning. Like, 'What the f**k is this? This is not what I expected.... I expected this ... I expected that.' So, it's like, if that ain't what people trying to hear, then alright, then I'mma start rapping about my pu**y again."
"Second of all, there's a lot of female rappers that be rapping their a** off and don't be talking about their pu**y and don't be talking about getting down and dirty and y'all don't be supporting them and they be mad dope," Cardi shared. "So don't blame that sh*t on us when y'all not the ones that supporting them."
The "Press" rapper later posted a second video, in which she named four talented female rappers that "don't rap about they vajayjay," and asked her fans, DJs, blogs, and magazines to support them. "Let me tell you about some rappers that are really f**king dope that are really rapping their a** off and I don't feel they get the recognition they deserve. Tierra Whack, Kamaiyah, Rapsody [and CHIKA]. They be rapping their a** off. I feel like we need to put these girls more in magazines, blogs, [and on the radio]," she shared. "My fans, I want you to hear these girls 'cause these girls can rap their motherf**king a** off. And we need to support them. And they don't rap about they vajayjay, they don't rap about sucking d**k and they dope a** rappers."
