Big Sean is on a roll this week and has shared another new song, following his "Overtime" release," called "Single Again" ... and it features ex-girlfriend Jhené Aiko and Ty Dolla $ign.

"Single Again" is all about self-love and focusing on yourself after a breakup. Sean sings in the chorus, "I'm single again/Told 'em we better off friends/ Maybe I should just focus on me/ Slow down, don't rush romance/ I'm single again/ Told 'em we better off friends/ Blaming you was just so easy, maybe the problem's me/ I'm single again/ Guess that's just the way it's gonna be/ Maybe I should spend this time on me/ Maybe I should spend this cash on me."

On Twitter, Sean revealed of the song, "I never knew that I didn’t know how to be alone in life. I always would find so much joy n happiness in a relationship or being with friends, but I didn’t know how important it was to be in a relationship with yourself." He added, "There's beauty in being your own source of happiness and fun and working on yourself. That’s the process I been going through personally and it can be a scary thing."

Sean concluded, "But when you work on yourself and bring your best self to something, I believe that’s truly how to experience a love where you are bringing happiness and joy and not dependency."

Big Sean's "Overtime," released just a few days prior to "Single Again," seemingly alludes to the rapper's breakup with Aiko. In the song he raps about heartbreak, "I didn't take a break my n****, I broke/Broke my heart, broke my soul. Don't cry for me though." Sean and Jhené split up earlier this year after dating for over two years.

Sean last released an album back in 2017 with Undecided, as well as with Metro Boomin on their collaborative effort Double or Nothing. "Overtime" and "Single Again" will be featured on the rapper's forthcoming new album, which is expected to be released later this year in the fall.
