The "inaugural theatrical fan indulgence," as the band has termed it, will bring Rush fans together once more when it debuts in theaters worldwide for one night only on August 21.
The film features concert footage from R40, as well as previously unseen backstage moments and candid footage that didn't make it into previous releases regarding the band's unofficial farewell.
A new clip from the film shows the band performing "Distant Early Warning" from 1984's Distance Under Pressure. The footage is bound to tug at the heart strings of Rush's diehards who are still coming to grips with the reality that the band will never perform again.
It depicts Rush in top form with front man Geddy Lee pulling out all the stops, alternating between playing bass guitar, keyboards and bass pedals with his feet and singing at the same time. Drummer Neil Peart delivers a typically virtuosic performance behind a wall of hardware while Alex Lifeson masterfully adds texture and intrigue with his guitar work.
