Khalid's promise to host a benefit concert to help the victims of the mass shooting in El Paso, Texas has come to fruition. On Tuesday (August 13), it was announced that the pop crooner's "A Night For Suncity" is scheduled for September 1 with Khalid and friends.
In support of his hometown, the event, which will be held at the Don Haskins Center, will see funds go directly to support the El Paso Shooting Victims' Fund and the El Paso Community Foundation. "I have been rocked to the core by the horrific act of gun violence that came to El Paso, and by the continued acts of senseless violence that our country faces daily. I want to give back to my community of El Paso, the city of the 915, who has given so much to me," the 21-year-old said in a statement. "Please come out and let’s heal together through music while raising money to help those who need it."
Tickets for the show go on sale on Wednesday at 10 AM via Live Nation. This event is presented by The Great Khalid Foundation and manager Courtney Stewart’s Right Hand Foundation, and produced by Live Nation. Khalid is currently making his way across the country on his "Free Spirit Tour," which kicked off in June. It's set to wrap up later this week in Miami.
