Liam Hemsworth finally addressed his feelings about Miley Cyrus after they suddenly decided to separate.
On Monday (August 12), the Hunger Games alum remained reasonably mum on the topic of his breakup from the "Wrecking Ball" musician, with whom he called it quits after nearly eight months of marriage the day before, when approached by Daily Mail Australia during a frozen yogurt run with older brother Chris Hemsworth. "You don't understand what it's like," Liam told the publication during the outing. "I don't want to talk about it mate."
Late last night, however, the 29-year-old actor eventually took to Instagram to express his true feelings on the situation.
"Hi all. Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward," Liam wrote. "This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love."
Liam's latest remarks come days after it was reported via Cyrus' rep that the stars' choice to go their separate ways "is what's best while they both focus on themselves and careers," adding, "They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart."
As you know, Liam and Cyrus tied the knot in a quiet ceremony at their Tennessee home in December 2018.
The "Cattitude" star was the first to somewhat speak about the split on Instagram hours after the news broke. "Don’t fight evolution, because you will never win," she wrote at the time. "Like the mountain I am standing on top of, which was once under water, connected with Africa, change is inevitable."
