Foo Fighters Are All For Starting A Petition To Get Oasis Back Together

If you're an American band playing a UK festival, it's only fitting to bring up Oasis. Over the weekend, Twenty One Pilots paid tribute to the defunct English legends by covering "Don't Look Back In Anger" during their Reading festival set, and performed the cover with Post Malone the next day at Leeds. Meanwhile, on Sunday (August 25), Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins taped a photo of Liam and Noel Gallagher to his kick drum during the band's Reading appearance. But that's not all. He and frontman Dave Grohl also addressed their want for the band to get back together, going so far as to say they'd sign a petition to make it happen.

“One of these days we’ll get Oasis back. One of these days,” Hawkins told the crowd, after Grohl took over on the drums for a rendition of Queen’s ‘Under Pressure’.

“We’re trying,” Grohl chimed in.

“We’re trying. Let’s sign a petition. Everyone here, okay?” Hawkins replied

“How many people wanna see Oasis f**king play a show?” Grohl asked to thunderous applause.

Unfortunately, that reunion will probably never happen, seeing has how the brothers Gallagher can't stand each other. The band broke up in 2009 when Noel walked out, claiming he couldn't work with Liam a day longer, and that sentiment hasn't seemed to change in the decade that's followed. Noel has said it wasn't hard for him to leave Oasis and just earlier this month said he liked his mom until she gave birth to Liam. Oof.
