On Monday (September 30) Billboard announced that Green Day and the NHL have entered a two-year partnership together, which will include the premiere the band's next single during a telecast on October 9 and the punk rockers giving a headline performance at the NHL All-Star Game on January 25, 2020 in St. Louis.
The track, “Ready, Fire, Aim,” is set to debut "during a pump-up montage featuring NHL stars like Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin prior to October 9’s game between the New Jersey Devils and Philadelphia Flyers on NBCSN" and will continue to be played during the 2019-20 hockey season.
"Ready, Fire, Aim" is the second single off Green Day's upcoming 13th album Father of All... following the lead single and title track. The new album is slated for a February 9, 2020 release and was announced in conjunction with the Hella Mega Tour — a massive stadium tour with Weezer and Fall Out Boy slated to kick off in the summer of next year.
Last weekend, Green Day performed at the iHeartRadio Music Festival for the first time after their infamous set in 2012. For fans who missed it, the whole festival is set to air on The CW Network at 8 p.m. ET/PT on October 2nd and 3rd.
