RuPaul can still werk it and the LGBTQ icon's talents are put on full display in the trailer for the Netflix series, AJ and the Queen, which dropped on Wednesday (December 4).
In the first full-length trailer for the upcoming dramedy, RuPaul, 59, stars as Robert, famously known as drag persona Ruby Red, who is about to open up his very own drag nightclub when his ex-boyfriend (played by Josh Segarra) and partner Lady Danger (played by Tia Carrere) come into the mix and steal all his money. The theft forces him to do what he does best and hit the road for a cross-country tour to earn back his funds. Along the way, Robert meets a 10-year-old runaway named AJ (played by Izzy G), who asks to hop on his tour to escape a tough upbringing. It's the first full taste of the series that RuPaul has been talking about for some time and the perfect appetizer ahead of the series' upcoming release on January 10.
AJ and the Queen was produced by by RuPaul and Sex and the City's Michael Patrick King. 22 friendly Drag Race alumni appear in the series, including Latrice Royale, Bianca del Rio, Valentina, Pandora Boxx, Trinity the Tuck, among others.
