Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson have raised eyebrows for reasons beyond their romance. It seems as if the pop couple might be starting a band together as the former filed for trademarks on the name Bandit and Bardot.
As per paperwork filed by Smiley Miley Inc. on behalf of the superstar, Cyrus, 27, is requesting that the moniker apply to "entertainment services, namely, live musical performances by a musical band; entertainment services, namely, live performances by professional singer, musician, and entertainer [and] entertainment, namely, live music concerts."
Fans of the pair also recently caught wind of an Instagram account with the band's name. Upon its discovery, the empty account, which only features a skull as a profile photo, had followed both of the stars. At time of press, the account followed neither of them, but had nabbed over 4,000 followers. "If a client directs us to prepare and file a trademark application for the name of a band, this is exactly the type of language we would use in the application," trademark attorney Josh Gerben of Gerben Law Firm told Rolling Stone. "The language used in Miley’s trademark application strongly suggests that she is intending to use Bandit and Bardot as the name of a band."
Cyrus and Simpson started dating in October and have since been all over each other's social media accounts. Additionally, Simpson has let their romance seep into his music after he released a song inspired by their coupling called "Golden Thing."
