Thomas Rhett Shares Lyric Video For ‘Christmas In The Country’

Just a few days ahead of Christmas, Thomas Rhett has shared the lyric video for his festive song, “Christmas In The Country.” The country singer says his wife Lauren, is the main source of inspiration behind the new original piece as well as his rendition of “The Christmas Song.”

“We have so many Christmas traditions in our family that include a lot of festive music, but I’ve never recorded anything myself,” Rhett shared. “Lauren has wanted me to make some Christmas music for a long time, so this year felt like the right time to finally take a stab at writing something and to put my own twist on one of the all-time classics.”

Usually, Rhett writes most of his songs, however, when it came to the Christmas song, it didn’t come as easy to him. "It's kind of impossible to write a classic," he admitted. "You just hope that it's cool enough to survive one year and maybe it'll get played next year. I think my dream in life would be to write a classic Christmas song that gets played until my kids are older."

Rhett and his wife have always loved Christmas time, and now with two daughters, Willa Gray and Ada James, in the picture, it’s become even more enjoyable. The family has already decided that one of their traditions is watching The Santa Claus movie “a thousand times” before Christmas day.

This will be the family's last Christmas as just a family of four. Next year at this time, they'll be joined by their third daughter who Lauren is pregnant with. The couple initially shared they were expecting a baby back in July with posts to social media. Their third baby girl is due just after the new year in February 2020.
