Considering how Greta Thunberg has been repeatedly impugned by the President of the United States, one wouldn't expect her to be phased at rock icon Meat Loaf's recent comments about her being "brain washed" into becoming an environmentalist.

The 17-year-old Swede, who was recently named Time's Person of the Year for 2019, hand-waved Meat Loaf's assertion Monday in a Tweet.

But others in the rock world were not so content to let the Bat Out of Hell icon off the hook.

Halestorm front woman Lzzy Hale pointed to Meat Loaf's climate change-denial as proof that young people have to be leaders in the fight against climate change.

"This is why the new gen has to step the f--- up!!," Hale wrote in a Tweet posted Saturday.

Ex-Skid Row front man Sebastian Bach weighed in as well, reposting Hale's earlier Tweet.

"Obviously anybody who thinks climate change isn't real is the one who is brainwashed," Baz replied.

Bach has been outspoken on climate change since his New Jersey home was destroyed in Hurricane Irene. While he was on tour in October, his family was evacuated from their current home in Southern California over the wildfire threat.

Climate scientists attribute a global increase in extreme weather to the Earth's rapidly changing climate. The warmest years on record have occurred in the last five years.

Bushfires igniting in Australia over the past several months have been linked to a prolonged dry period brought about by climate change.
