Jack Antonoff Confirms New Bleachers Album Will Be Released This Year

It looks like 2020 is already panning out to be an incredible year for new music.

On Monday (January 6), Jack Antonoff casually confirmed that a new Bleachers album is in the works and is slated to be released this year!

“I'm putting out a bleachers album this year,” he wrote on Twitter. Okay, while this may not be the most information-heavy announcement, it's a start!

Bleachers last released their second album, Gone Now, in June of 2017 and their debut album Strange Desire, came out in 2014. So it's safe to say we are impatiently awaiting new music.

Antonoff and company have been in and out of the studio for months and first confirmed to fans in November 2019 that their third album was in the beginning stages of recording.

But we can give him a break for taking a couple years to record new Bleachers tracks as he's been super busy helping create music for other artists. He produced tracks for Taylor Swift's Lover and Lana Del Rey's Norman F**king Rockwell this year and the year before was busy with St. Vincent and Pink's albums.

Never sitting still for too long, Antonoff also started his new music venture, Red Hearse, with producer Soundwave, and singer Sam Dew — they released their debut album last summer.

Naturally, after tweeting out the news of the new album, fans completely lost it. “B3 coming and i’m still not over Gone Now......” one fan tweeted. “JACK IM GONNA CRY,” another fan said. While one eager fan had a very relatable tweet saying, “WHAT MONTH I NEED TO PLAN MY LIFE AROUND THIS.”

Fans can most likely catch Bleachers perform new music at Antonoff's Shadow of the City; which takes place on the beach in New Jersey. This year, fans can catch the outdoor concert on June 27, 2020.
