Dustin Lynch has been dating model Kelli Seymour for just over a year now and he couldn't be happier. In a recent interview with People, the country singer opened up about his relationship and how it's progressed over the last year.
"It just seems natural," Lynch explains, adding, "There's something comfortable about us and honestly, getting the thumbs up from my family is a big deal. And her family, too."
To make things more interesting, during the interview, Lynch was presented with a clip from a 2017 video interview in which he discussed qualities of his dream girl. At the time, Lynch wanted a girl who wasn't "into herself," was laid-back, confident, loves to laugh, spontaneous and enjoys traveling.
As it turns out, Seymour checks all of those boxes. "There we go," Lynch says realizing she does have all those qualities. "She checked all those boxes? That is awesome!"
The "Ridin' Roads" singer revealed that Seymour initially caught his eye after seeing some of her modeling in 2018. He tracked her down on social media and decided to take a chance and send her a message. He shares, "I mean, DMs happen. How else do you meet somebody, right?"
The two eventually met in person on November 2, 2018 when Lynch invited the Los Angeles-based model to his show in Bakersfield, California. They've been a long-distance couple ever since.
Lynch went on to share that the song "Country Star" from his new album, Tullahoma, was written with Seymour in mind. It was written after he bough a farm outside of Nashville. He imagined "taking her out there for the first time and what we would do. It's kind of this fantasy night."
Lynch will embark on his 2020 "Stay Country Tour" kicking off on January 30 in Detroit, Michigan running through the end of March. Then, later this summer, he'll hit the road with Old Dominion for select dates of their "We Are Old Dominion Tour." The run will kick off May 5 in Key West, Florida, hitting 13 cities from coast to coast including Charleston, South Carolina, Maine and more.
