Twitter was a bit confused about Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz's status with the band yesterday (February 3), when Kim Kardashian-West tweeted photos of her pool and backyard.
Before you hurt your brain trying to figure out how Pete Wentz and the reality TV star's paths cross let me explain.
The reality star and her husband, Kanye West, were featured in Architectural Digest, prompting the 39-year-old to share some photos of her family's backyard and crediting the work to landscaper Peter Wertz.
This, of course, caused people to confuse the landscaper with the Fall Out Boy bassist. “Did he leave fall out boy?” one fan tweeted back at Kardashian-West. While another wrote, “The guy from Fall Out Boy??”
The mix-up is particularly funny because the reality star appeared in Fall Out Boy's 2009 video for “Thnks fr th Mmrs” and even kissed Wentz in one scene.
It didn't take long for Wentz to see the tweets and give his own response to the mix-up. “Side hustle,” he wrote after retweeting Kardashian-West's original tweet.

Fall Out Boy fans wasted no time replying to Wentz with some truly great tweets. “This aint a scenery it's a goddamn landscape,” one wrote and another said, “Good to have something to fall back on.” Others jokingly inquired about his rates. Unfortunately, some Twitter users seemed to actually think he was being serious *face palm* — oops!
“Peter WERTZ , ???lol, you changed your surname , I didn't knew [stet] that,” one fan commented. “Wertz??? Is this a spelling mitsake [stet] or is this correctly spelt,” another inquired. And one fan was really disappointed in Kardashian-West for spelling his name wrong: “can’t believe she just misspelled your name like that.. the least she could do is give proper credit smh.”
Fans will be happy to know that Wentz is not turning in his bass for a lawnmower and is gearing up for the Hella Mega Tour this summer with Weezer and Green Day.
