Deftones are adding to their 2020 schedule with a North American tour, alongside modern metal innovators Gojira and special guest Poppy.

The summer tour begins in Portland, Oregon, on July 27 and snakes around the continent before wrapping up in Denver on September 5.

"We're super excited to have Gojira spending the summer with us, and Poppy will be a really fun addition as well," frontman Chino Moreno said via a press release. "We're looking forward to seeing everyone this summer. It's been a minute."

Deftones have been taking their time preparing new music over the past year.

Moreno said in November that the band completed most of the instrumental tracks for the album last summer, but was not rushing the process of composing vocals. Hopefully, the spring will bring more news of what Deftones has in store.

Gojira has been busy working on the follow-up to 2016's critically-lauded Magma album. Poppy began to explore the metal side of her sound on her latest effort, I Disagree, which arrived last month.
