Kenny Chesney Announces New Album 'Here And Now'

Kenny Chesney has shared the release date of his 19th studio album! The new record, Here and Now, will officially drop on May 1.

Over the last 18 months, Chesney has been working on songs for the new project alongside longtime collaborator and co-producer Buddy Cannon and Ross Copperman. The country star hopes the new album makes fans smile as it has a happy feel to it.

"You know, it’s going to have a high fun factor," Chesney says. "People work hard, and need music that makes them smile, that kicks them into a happy place. There are also songs here that look at very specific people, that tell one person’s story, but it could be any of us. That’s the mark of a good song: let one person’s specific life say so much about a lot of people’s lives."

The title track of the album, "Here and Now" was released on February 21. The track features lyrics that inspire listeners to live in the moment.

"Lotta people dreaming ‘bout one day, someday / Waiting just around the bend / I used to be one / Wondering when they’d come, but now I’m living in..." Chesney sings in the new song.

"Here And Now" will be included on Chesney's upcoming album expected some time this year. This summer, the country star will hit the road for his 2020 "Chillaxification Tour" kicking off on April 18 in Arlington, Texas. The tour includes 22 stadium shows and 18 amphitheater dates.

Michael Franti & Spearhead will be the only additional act joining Chesney for the amphitheater shows. The group will also be a part of the stadium tour along with Florida Georgia Line and Old Dominion. Tickets for the tour are available now.
