Mötley Crüe guitarist Mick Mars' solo album should finally arrive this summer.

Mars has been talking about making his solo debut since Mötley Crüe's 'Final Tour' wrapped up in 2015. According to one of Mars' collaborators, Jacob Bunton, the album will finally see the light of day in time for Crüe's reunion tour.

Bunton, the sole lead vocalist on the album, says he's been writing and recording with Mars for several months, and they're nearly finished with the album. The sessions have been taking place at one-time Mötley Crüe producer Michael Wagener's Blackbird Studios in Nashville, Tennessee.

"The power goes out it's so loud," he tells AL.com of Mars' signature guitar sound. "It's louder than anything you've ever heard in your life. Louder than a jet engine — I'm not exaggerating. He runs through so many cabinets and heads and everything, it's insane, but his tone is just the most incredible thing you've heard."

Mars last addressed his solo album in a September interview with Billboard, meant as a follow-up on the success of Netflix's Mötley Crüe biopic, The Dirt.

The guitarist explained that he was "searching for something" different and fresh on his solo record.

"I don't want to be living in '85," Mars said. "It's hard to reinvent yourself, but that's what I'm doing now. I'm trying to reinvent the way that I approach music writing. I've got a lot of crap, and I've got a lot of good stuff too."
