When Toni Cornell was 12 years old, she and her dad Chris Cornell recorded a cover of Sinead O'Connor and Prince's "Nothing Compares 2 U." In 2018, the teenager paid tribute to her late father by sharing the emotional duet with the world. On Thursday (March 5), Toni revealed via Instagram that she donated $20,000 from the song's proceeds to the International Rescue Committee — an organization that supports refugees.

"Nothing compares to you daddy..." she wrote alongside a precious photo of her and her dad. "I will keep the promise and always speak out for those who do not have a voice. Today I’m donating $20,000 from the proceeds of our cover of Nothing Compares 2 U to the IRC @rescueorg I’m proud and honored to continue your legacy. I love you. I miss you"

Check out the heartfelt post below.

The cover was unearthed when the late Soundgarden frontman's widow Vicky found audio files on his computer after he passed away in 2017. He and Toni recorded the cover just a few months before he died.

"I’m so proud of my baby girl for having the courage to share this," Vicky tweeted at the time. "July 19, last year she found it in her daddy’s studio files-they recorded it a few months before he died. You never know what life brings and how we live each day is what’s most important"
