Coldplay made a vow not to tour until it becomes more sustainable, they're still playing shows here and there — like iHeartRadio's ALTerEGO show, and most recently NPR's Tiny Desk concert.

Singer Chris Martin and guitarist Jonny Buckland visited the NPR office with The For Love Choir, and together they performed a soulful set that included three songs off the band' recently released album Everyday Life ("Cry Cry Cry," "Broken," and "Champion of the World"), their 2008 hit "Viva La Vida," and a surprise cover of Prince's iconic party anthem "1999."

"We really haven't done many things for this album, we've been trying to stay in semi-hibernation, but coming out for something like Tiny Desk is so pure and so wonderful and makes us feel like, 'Oh, this is why we do what we do,'" Martin said after performing the soulful cover. Watch the full set below.

"We're not touring this album. We're taking time over the next year or two, to work out how our tour can not only be sustainable [but] how can it be actively beneficial," Martin previously revealed about the band's future plans. "How can we harness the resources that our tour creates and make it have a positive impact?"
