Trace Adkins Drops Video For New Single 'Better Off'

Trace Adkins is back with new music! The country star released his new single, "Better Off" written by Hillary Lindsey, Corey Crowder and Liz Rose.

The new song comes just about a week after Adkins announced his new record deal with Verge Records. “I am excited about my merge with Verge," Adkins said at the time. "My desire to create and release new music is as strong now as when I first started. Mickey Jack and I have collaborated on several projects, and I look forward to several more.”

To accompany the new song, Adkins also released a new music video. The video, directed by Mike Stryker, was filmed in an old slaughterhouse in north Nashville that had been repurposed as a video and photo shoot location. In a recent interview, Adkins revealed that the video was actually filmed the same night the devastating tornadoes swept through Nashville. "It's a bit surreal to think they touched down a few hours later, just a few blocks from where we were," he says.

Adkins continued on to explain how he wanted to do a performance-style video with his band. "We could have gone in a few directions with this song, but I wanted to be cognizant of keeping the video sexy but classy," Adkins says, adding, "Mike suggested using the dancers to add some elegance. The fact that the dancers also happen to be a couple added authenticity to their scenes."

Adkins new "The Way I Wanna Go Tour" is scheduled to start on April 15 in Lancaster, Pa with shows running through the fall. Tickets for the tour are available now. A full list of cities and dates can be seen here.
