Sam Hunt has released the music video for his song "Young Once" from his new album, Southside.
The video, directed by Tim Mattia, follows a young couple on the run, escaping their seemingly dysfunctional homes. They make their way across the country train-hopping and doing the best they can with what they have. Despite the hardship, the two find joy in the adventure, leaning only on each other.
"Young Once" was co-written by Hunt alongside Zach Crowell, Matt Jenkins and Josh Osborne. It finds Hunt celebrating the freedom that comes with being young.
"We were young once / We were gung-ho, singing in the sun once / Backroads in the wild, on the run once / Cheap thrills, doing things in the wheat fields," Hunt sings in the chorus.

Earlier this week, Hunt performed his current single, "Hard To Forget" on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Backed by the track, the country star strummed his guitar and delivered an intimate performance alone from his studio.
"Hard To Forget" follows up Hunt's chart-topping single, "Kinfolks." Both songs are featured on the country singer's new album, Southside, released on April 3. Southside is Hunt's first album since his 2014 debut, Montevallo.
This summer, Hunt will celebrate the new album with his "Southside Summer Tour." Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the tour has been postponed to a July 10 start date. A full list of new cities and dates can be seen here.
