Dua Lipa has a new song with Normani on the way!
The English songbird revealed a deluxe edition of her sophomore album, Future Nostalgia, is arriving soon — and so is her much-gossiped-about collaboration with the “Motivation” singer. Lipa dished all about the special release of her second record on Monday’s (May 11) virtual appearance on Watch What Happens Live with host Andy Cohen and guest Lena Dunham.
Although Lipa would not divulge specific release details for the deluxe project, the 24-year-old did confirm recording tracks with a few familiar pop stars, including the Fifth Harmony alum and Miley Cyrus.
Sadly, the “Break My Heart” musician revealed the song she’d initially recorded with Cyrus had been scrapped, but assured fans that they would reunite in the studio once again for something different. Fortunately, Lipa shared a much more hopeful update about her duet with the “Waves” singer.
“The one with Normani,” Lipa teased Cohen and Dunham with a excited smile, “you might hear soon.”
Lipa’s Future Nostalgia dropped to wide acclaim in March, bringing forth fan-favorite jams like “Don’t Start Now,” “Physical,” “Break My Heart,” and “Future Nostalgia.” The dance-pop record was a total triumph for the superstar, garnering her the first top three entry of her career on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Don’t Start Now.”
For Normani, the highly-anticipated collab will be the R&B pop star’s first track to release in 2020 after linking up with Megan Thee Stallion for “Diamonds” from the Birds of Prey motion picture soundtrack earlier this year.
