Drake is one of the biggest rap titans around, but the OVO honcho knows the importance of shouting out the greats and he’s not afraid to name them.
On Thursday (May 14), Toronto rapper Young Tony, also known as OVO Hush, shared a photo of some of the throwback mixtapes that he’s featured on, including some of his older work with his group Deep Pockets. Meanwhile, Drake took it upon himself to name OVO Hush and the rest of his all-time favorites in the comment section. "My top 5 is Biggie, hov, Wayne, Young Tony, and 3000 since nobody asked," he replied. Longtime Drake followers might recognize Young Tony's name from shoutout in Drizzy's catalogue, particularly the track, "Miss Me," off the rapper's debut LP, Thank Me Later.
As for Drake's greatness, well, the industry honcho proved his demand once again with his recent mixtape, Dark Lane Demo Tapes, which locked the No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200 after Kenny Chesney. The set also saw all 14 tracks on the compilation land on the Hot 100, tying Madonna for the most Top 10 entries on the chart.
