Chase Rice just released The Album, Pt. II, which follows The Album, Pt. I that he released earlier in the year — but the country singer/songwriter is ready to work on Pt. III and Pt. IV, and revealed that he wrote a song with Dan + Shay's Shay Mooney.
During a Facebook Live on iHeartRadio's Facebook, Chase told iHeartRadio's Emily Curl, that over four years ago, he began writing a song called "Secrets" with Shay after some drinks, and it has yet to be finished. He explained:
"I got a song called 'Secrets' that I haven't finished that is probably over four and a half years old that I started with Shay Mooney from Dan + Shay, absolutely trashed, but it was a good start and we just tanked it really quick. But, we got together again sober, tweaked it, but we gotta finish it still. That's gonna be a great song when it's finished."
Rice added that "it'll come out at some point on my record," but "we gotta finish it. So, I'll text Shay and see if we can finish this thing."
Now that fans have their hands on The Album Pt. I and II, Chase also revealed that although hasn't written anything new lately, he is ready to record Pt. III and Pt. IV. He said, "I'm getting back to two writes next week, so I'll get back to that, but I'm ready to record Part III and IV, so I'm gonna dive into Part III and IV soon."
He added, "It's just hard because when you write an album, you expect to play it live and expect to get your kicks off people singing them back to you, and that's not happening right now. So, it's different, but at the end of the day, people are seeming to be really digging these songs and these albums that I've been putting out and dropping them the way I'm dropping them. So, it's different, but I don't think there's going to be a time like this ever again in our lives, so might as well enjoy it."
