Brad Paisley is raising his glass to two best friends in upstate New York.
Over the weekend, as protests for racial equality in America continued, the country star was inspired by Benjamin Smith and Marcus Ellis' message of peace. In a viral photo, the two are sitting in their driveway in Rochester with a pack of beer and a sign that read "Black or white, relax and have a beer."
According to RochesterFirst.com, the photo of the duo quickly went viral online, eventually capturing Paisley's attention. The country star bought hundreds of dollars worth of beer from AJ's Beer Warehouse and had it sent to their house hours before he surprised them with a Zoom call.
"Man, I am so thrilled to meet you, face to face like this,” Paisley said. “I’m so inspired by you, and we thought we should deliver more beer than you could possibly drink… This is going to be a popular destination on this street.”
Paisley then treated the friends to a performance of his most recent single, "No I In Beer."
Today, I had a chance to catch up with two great guys, Benjamin Smith and Marcus Ellis. These two best friends have set up camp at Smith's house in Pittsford on Jeff. Road, saying "Black or white, relax and have a beer." #ROC @News_8 pic.twitter.com/N5fP2qtxWH

This is surreal. Remember Benjamin Smith and Marcus Ellis? The two best friends who offered: "Black or white, relax and have a beer" on their driveway?

Over the last week, Paisley has been active on social media speaking out in support of peaceful protesting against racial inequality in America. Most recently, the singer shared a video of himself explaining how he's been actively educating himself about systemic racism and racial injustice.
"I have been trying to reach out to friends and learn and observe, and especially my friends in the black community," he says. "I've been talking to them about just how they’re feeling and what they want me to know."
"In that sense, it’s been fascinating, it's been something that I'm really glad I'm doing," Paisley said. "I'm glad I'm getting to hear perspectives that are usually sort of buried and not talked about."
Paisley ended the clip sharing his phone number and encouraging fans to reach out and share what they've learned as well. See the full video below.
