BTS just donated another $1 million to an important cause.

On Monday (June 22), the K-pop group joined forces with their management company, Big Hit Entertainment, to donate $1 million to Crew Nation, Live Nation’s initiative that supports live-entertainment personnel affected by the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

As the BTS ARMY knows, the band was intended to tour this year before the novel virus swept the world, so giving back to Crew Nation helps support those involved in making the group’s shows responsible.

“This is one of the largest artist donations that has been raised for the Crew Nation fund since its conception,” reads an announcement about the joint donation.

This isn’t the first time BTS and Big Hit have come together to financially support meaningful campaigns. As previously reported, BTS also contributed to a $1 million donation to Black Lives Matter in support of the Black community amid the worldwide protests sparked by the killing of George Floyd.

“Black people all over the world are in pain at this moment from the trauma of centuries of oppression,” Kailee Scales, managing director for Black Lives Matter, told Variety at the time. “We are moved by the generosity of BTS and allies all over the world who stand in solidarity in the fight for Black lives.”

What’s more, BTS’ fans matched the septet’s massive $1 million contribution with thanks to their #MatchAMillion hashtag campaign, inspiring the ARMY to help raise the same amount again. "We stand in solidarity with black ARMY,” reads a press release for the cause. “They're an important part of our family. And we stand with black people everywhere. Your voices deserve to be heard."

Within the first 24 hours of the movement, fans had already exceeded $800k in donations before reaching their goal.
