Blackpink is back with a new song and music video.

On Friday (June 26), the K-pop quartet unveiled their first song of the year, “How You Like That,” along with a mystical music video featuring band members Lisa, Jennie, Rosé, and Jisoo donning colorful fashions in dreamy landscapes.

With their newest single, the South Korean pop girl group pays homage to different cultural and musical influences, blending both Arabic and hip-hop rhythms throughout the band’s bass-heavy production. The final result is an easy contender for one of the hottest Song of Summer jams to emerge from the realm of K-pop.

“Your girl need it all and that's a hundred/ Karma come and get some/ What's up? I’m right back…cock back Plain Jane get hijacked, don't like me?/ Then tell me how you like that, like that,” the band sings in the chorus before leading into an explosive dance beat.

In addition to its release, the ladies broke a major record with the premiere of “How You Like That,” shattering YouTube in its wake with the biggest music video premiere of all-time. When the song dropped last night, 1.65 million fans tuned in for Blackpink video’s debut, dethroning previous record-holders, BTS, who set the bar with the 1.54 million views they garnered upon debuting the visual for their song “On” in February.

"How You Like That" marks Blackpink's long-awaited standalone comeback to music after a year since releasing 2019's "Kill This Love." Additionally, the group made their first feature this year on Lady Gaga's Chromatica album on the bittersweet bop "Sour Candy."
