August Alsina detailed his “entanglement” with Jada Pinkett Smith on a new song.

The R&B crooner held nothing back on his latest record, “Entanglements,” featuring Rick Ross. Hours before unveiling the track at midnight, the 27-year-old superstar released an audio teaser on Instagram in which Alsina sings of his infamous affair with the Girls Trip actress, who recently admitted to having what she described as an “entanglement” with the NOLA artist.

The record includes a number of direct (and indirect) references to Alsina’s romantic involvement with Jada, which is laid bare all throughout the song. “The definition of entanglement/ It's when you're tangled in the sheets/ Girl I know that we don't call it a relationship/ But you're still f—kin' with me,” Alsina sings in the chorus. “Entanglements, is when you tangled in them sheets/ Entanglements, is when you're tangled up with me/ Entanglements is when you're gettin' in too deep.”

Additionally, Ross makes use of some slick wordplay on his verse that allude to the 48-year-old star. “Shawty leanin' on my shoulder, got her questionin' my willpower/ Jaded by her beauty, but her reputation real solid,” he raps. Elsewhere, he says, “Caught up in the Matrix, and I doubt if I can get up out it” and “Still I gotta get around, favorite artist was 2Pac.” For context, Jada, who is married to Will Smith, played in 2003’s The Matrix Revolutions and had also been romantically linked to 2Pac before the rapper’s untimely death in 1996.

Alsina released “Entanglements” following Jada’s confessing to being in a previous relationship with him on the July 10 episode of her show, Red Table Talk.
