Cole Sprouse Breaks Silence On Lili Reinhart Breakup

Cole Sprouse is setting the record straight on his breakup with Lili Reinhart.

In light of the ongoing speculations concerning the couple splitting up earlier this year, the actor officially took to social media on Wednesday (August 19) to clear the air on where he and his Riverdale costar stand today. For starters, Sprouse shared, “Lili and I initially separated in January of this year, deciding to more permanently split in March.”

The 27-year-old, who has reportedly broken up with Reinhart more than once during their four-year relationship, still spoke sweetly of their romance, calling it “an incredible experience.”

“I’ll always feel lucky and cherish that I had the chance to fall in love. I wish her nothing but the utmost love and happiness moving forward,” he added. “All I’ll say about it, anything else you hear doesn’t matter.”

Sprouse concluded his post by shouting out Reinhart’s new film, Chemical Hearts, expressing, “I’m sure she’s just as incredible in it as everything else she does.”

The former Disney star’s statement comes just days after Reinhart opened up about coping with the ongoing pandemic and with what her therapist called a “withdrawal from love."

“The last couple of months have probably [been] the most emotional few months of my entire life,” Reinhart told Refinery29. “And my therapist [told] me, ‘Your body’s going through withdrawal from love. You’re used to having this exchange of happy chemicals between you and the person that you’re with.’”

As she explained, she often felt like she had “dropped every ounce of pride that I had just to be like, 'Love me. Please take the pain away for a day, a second, an hour,' just so I can feel that fix again.”
